These headphones came securely packaged, and ready to use right out of the box. I listen to the radio over the internet, so having the volume control was essential, and it is convienently located on the cord. You can choose to listen in stereo or mono function, which definitely comes in handy when listening to tapes. It only has one cord (no “Yoke” style attached to both ears) so it stays out of the way. The headphones fit well, although the reason that this only received four stars from me is because the ear padding isn’t very thick, but they’re still pretty comfortable. I certainly don’t regret this purchase, especially for the price!

You get what you pay for. The sound is quite muddy. All bass and no tremble. If you like a bass sound, this is for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

WOW ! They feel great and are super comfortable and with the Volume control that works great and is attached between the headset and the plug with the single wire to the headset instead of the split “Y” shaped type , just works perfect. The sound is superb. I’ll probably buy 3 extra pair just because they are so good and comfortable and at less than .00 each , you can’t go wrong .A Super headset for my tastes . Pat Simmons

If you are looking for a good microphone, this is the one to get. I was surprised by the excellent clarity this Mic had to offer. I rate this mic 5 stars , and I recommend it to anybody out there on the microphone search. Believe me, it’s worth your money.

I ordered this microphone on the basis that it was compatible with virtually any sound card and the fact that it was a snip, compared with similar products for two times or more the cost. I tried it when I received it with my RealPlayer, and I was amazed at the clarity and sharpness of the sound. It also works well on the voice chat rooms; I tried it on Yahoo, and I always got a quick response, while others’ mics were constantly screeching and buzzing. I think this is one of the best microphones I’ve seen in ages.

This is an excellent mic for the money. I use mine primarily for voice chat, telephony, and net conferencing and it rocks hard. The cord is LONG too which make moving it around a breeze. I dont know about voice recognition because i dont use it for that but for voice chat and telephony it had excellent quality..you cant go wrong.

The Cyber Acoustics AC-101 Monaural Headset & Boom Mic is the base model in their line-up, but has some representative features of low end headsets. While this unit isn’t terrible, it’s definitely a case of “you get what you pay for.” You may want to look at some of their higher end models or check out the Creative HS-600 Headset with Noise Cancelling Microphone.

Pros

- Good Price for basic headset

- Earphone is decent quality for a basic headset

- “Voice Recognition” certified for those using that feature

- Microphone easily swivels for left or right ear use

Cons

- The monaural headset won’t meet all your gaming and multimedia needs

- The list price of may be correct, but these sell for in my local brick and mortar. So you still get a better deal at Amazon, but you are saving about or 7% as opposed to 28%.

- The microphone sensitivity seems somewhat low

- Durability is questionable; the wires and connectors are your basic cheap grade and won’t last heavy abuse

- The head rest arm is somewhat sharp and could have used more padding; put it on with care

For my money, I prefer the Creative HS-600. They are more expensive at about to , but they give you stereo headphones and more comfortable cushion ear-pads. The microphone also seems like an improvement over the Cyber Acoustics. If you don’t want to pay that much you can always look into the Cyber Acoustics AC-201 Stereo Headset/microphone, Logitech Premium Stereo Headset with Noise-Canceling Microphone, or even the Cyber Acoustics AC-850 Silver USB Stereo Headset/Microphone with In-line Volume Control.

If you need an inexpensive set for infrequent use and don’t mind the wired connection, this set is worth a look. If you plan on using your headset often and don’t mind spending a little more, look into the Creative set or other alternatives.
